In Loving Memory of Vu Vuong Tran
Vu Vuong Tran, age 47, passed away unexpectedly, in his home. He was a dynamic individual with a strong-willed and resilient spirit.
Born in Malaysia in 1976, Vu's early life was marked by his family's courageous journey escaping from Vietnam. His parents, determined to provide a better future, endured a perilous boat trip, eventually finding refuge in Malaysia. Vu spent first year of life in a refugee camp before the family was sponsored to the United States, settling in Portland, Oregon.
During one of his teenage years, he spent a memorable year with his uncle and family in California, building cherished memories. Despite the distance, Vu's heart always remained close to his family in Portland, where he soon returned.
Vu looked like a big, tough guy, but he was really just a big teddy bear. He loved his family and had a tender and loving heart. He often had rocky moments in his life, but his resilience and love for his family and friends always shone through. He was a generous person, always finding a way to be there for his loved ones.
He never wanted to burden or to worry anyone. His lighthearted comical nature overshadowed the hardships he endured in his life.
Vu is survived by his beloved mother, Nguyen Thi Lien, two sisters, Hieu Garner, Huyen Tran, and two brothers, Vinh Tran and Viet Tran. He is also remembered by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Vu was preceded in death by his father and his younger brother, Huy, whom he deeply missed.
Rest in peace, Vu. Your laughter and love will echo in our hearts forever.
