Vinko Bosnar passed away peacefully at his home on September 25, 2024. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Katica; three sons, Joseph (Victoria), Tony (Pamala), and David; and two grandchildren, Matthew (Erika) and Chloe.
Vinko was the seventh of nine children born to Vinko and Amalia Bosnar, on May 2, 1941 in Ðakovo, Croatia. He immigrated to Blacktown, Australia in 1961 where he met his wife and their sons Joe and Tony were born. The family immigrated to Portland, Oregon in 1970 where David was born.
Vinko worked as an independent general contractor specializing in concrete, stucco and plastering. His favorite activities included hunting, fishing, vegetable gardening, and making wine from his homegrown grapes. He cherished his family, faith, and friends. He also enjoyed the activities and friendships within Portland's Croatian community. His smile and friendship will be greatly missed.
A funeral mass will be offered Friday, October 4, 2024 at 11am, with a rosary service beginning at 10:30am at Christ the King Catholic Church.
