Susan Theresa Ward

Susan Theresa Ward age 73 born July 12, 1950, passed away July 10, 2024, at Meridian Park Hospital, Tualatin Oregon following persistent malingering illnesses.

Susan was born July 12, 1950, in Portland Oregon to Edward and Jane Burke. She attended Madeleine Grade School and Holy Child Academy. In 1972 she graduated from Portland Community College with an associate degree in Nursing. Susan completed her B.A. in Liberal Arts from Linfield College, graduating Summa Cum Laude in 1976.

Susan married Kent Ward in 1982 and quickly assumed the role of foster mother to Kent's son Jason. She worked as a Registered Nurse employed at Legacy Health Systems for eighteen years, additionally she worked in research at Emanuel Hospital. Susan retired from nursing to be a foster parent to two young boys, as well as care for her aging mother.

In 2001 Susan joined Kent in his insurance practice, Pacific Benefit Planning, LLC, earning her R.H.U. (registered health underwriter) designation in record time. She continued operating the medical, dental, vision component of PBP until the sale of Pacific Benefit Planning, LLC in 2015.

Susan's cremated remains will be interred at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Portland Oregon. She is survived by her husband H. Kent Ward, stepson Jason M. Ward, wife Amy and their two children Meredith and Oliver, and Blake M. Duckworth foster son.

Her funeral service/celebration of life is to be held at St. Edward Catholic Church in Keizer OR.
