Stephen Mayer Gasper

Stephen Mayer Gasper Sr., 73, Left this world for heaven on Feb 4, 2019 at 3:03 PM PST. He was sleeping peacefully in his home in Portland, Oregon. He was awake and alert the day before surrounded by loved ones and receiving lots of attention from his family, Priest, medical team, and his favorite visitor Carly, a Belgian Shepherd to keep him comfortable and happy. He was eager to pass from this life to the next and had been receiving visits and sacraments from Father Pat of St Anthony of Padua Catholic church in Portland.

He is survived by his Grandson Wyatt Gasper, his Brothers Ted, Leo(Amy), Ken(Patty), and Chris. His youngest brother Fulton(Anne) had preceded him on January 21,2018. He is also survived by his children Sarah Margaret Gasper, Stephen Mayer Gasper Jr(Tanya) and their mother Barbara Weatherly as well as his nieces and nephews; Ted III, Jodie(Eric), Michael(Kelly), Andy(Glenna), Laurie(Scott), Halie, Cate and Molly(Elliott).

He was preceded by his amazing parents Theodore Howard Gasper and Margaret Gasper and a loving nephew Robbie.

Steve was a dedicated Truck driver from 1962 (Bulk milk hauler to Sealtest) ending in 2015 where he retired from Walmart with a perfect safety record. His adventures on the road and the friends he made were extraordinary. Steve Logged about 10 million safe driving miles. He also made important contributions as a Driver Trainer with N.C. State and several other training schools. Hard work and accomplishments were the cornerstone of his life.

His Service for the east coast is in Florence at 2 PM Saturday Feb 23 At Florence Memorial Gardens.
