Lisa Marie Raskin

June 3, 1957 — March 10, 2024

Jacksonville

Lisa Raskin passed away peacefully in Jacksonville, Oregon surrounded by her family after bravely facing late-stage lung cancer with courage and grace. Lisa was born in Portland, Oregon to John and Patricia Henick. Lisa grew up in a lively family as the fifth of six children: her late sister Chris, her late brothers Dan and Jim, and surviving brother Marty and sister Jan.

Lisa grew up in southwest Portland in a very active family where sports was highly valued. Brother Jim was a world-class kayaker. Brother Marty was a quarterback in high school. Lisa won awards in track and field. Lisa did well in basketball through successful training from her brothers. She was talented enough to try out for the all-boy basketball team but though talented, was not accepted.

Lisa also had a talent for cooking and graduated from culinary school in Portland, Oregon. She moved to Palm Springs, California where she worked at various restaurants including a stint in fine dining. Lisa also had a career as a singer performing in Palm Springs, Portland, and a cross-country tour.

Lisa married and later divorced Anthony Wooldridge. They had two children, Sophia and John. Lisa, Sophia, and John moved to Ashland, Oregon, a place of great beauty. While in Ashland, Lisa began studies in native American anthropology and museum curation at Southern Oregon University.

In 2011, Lisa reconnected with her high school sweetheart, Keith Raskin, through Facebook. In September 2013, Lisa was invited by Keith to his 40th high school reunion which led to a rekindling of their earlier relationship. Lisa and Keith set up house in Keith’s home in San Francisco.

Lisa had a special talent for art, design, and the value of antiques and collectables. This led her to a successful online eBay business. In San Francisco, Lisa oversaw the entire renovation of their multi-unit Victorian property. Lisa then established a successful Airbnb business in the renovated property.

Lisa is survived by her children John, Sophia (Tyler), and granddaughter Finley.

Internment will occur Friday, April 19, 2024 from 2:30 PM to 3:00 PM at Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery, 333 SW Skyline Blvd., Portland, OR 97221.
