Kenneth Jerome Hoff, 84, passed peacefully at his home in Orchards, Washington, on March 16, 2023. He was surrounded by both of his children.
Ken was the firstborn child of Frank and Clementine Hoff, born July 3, 1938, in the small rural community of New Salem, North Dakota. After moving during his childhood to Portland, Oregon, he went on to attend Holy Rosary Elementary and Central Catholic High School. Upon graduating high school, Ken served his country as a member of the United States Marine Corps where he received a Good Conduct Medal for his honorable and faithful service.
While being shy and introverted in nature, he spent the majority of his career assisting and engaging with people as a salesman, with major stops at Eoff Electric, Glidden Paint, JC Penney, Vancouver Furniture, and finally retiring from City Liquidators.
Ken was married to, and is survived by, two wonderful women — Mary Akin, with whom he was married for 16 years and shares his two children with; and Aggie Cooley, with whom he was married for 10 years.
Ken had a sharp wit and loved being around his family, playing games or engaging in good-natured teasing. He loved taking trips to the Oregon Coast, browsing thrift stores, watching sports and game shows, movies, and going to car shows. His subtle sarcasm and playful banter will be sorely missed.
Ken was a loving son to Clementine and Frank, brother of Harvey, Dave, Joan, and Debbie. He was a devoted father to his daughter Leanne and son Kenny, and beloved grandfather to Brittany and, for the last 10 years, her fiancé Cody. His parents both coming from large families, he has many aunts and uncles, and is survived by countless cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, mother, and brother Harvey.
We love and miss you, Ken! You are forever in our hearts and will always be in our thoughts.
