Joseph Frederick Breimayer

Joseph Frederick Breimayer, age 81, of Lake Oswego, passed away on October 5, 2023. Joe was born in Belding, Michigan, in 1942.  He attended University of Detroit, where he earned a BS in Electrical Engineering.  He later graduated from George Washington University with a JD degree.  His career included five years with Eastman Kodak in Rochester, New York where he was responsible for US and foreign patent preparation, prosecution and licensing.  He later joined Medtronic Inc. in Minneapolis, again responsible for all patent matters including US and foreign patent litigation.  He ended his career in private practice, principally for Kodak, Medtronic and a few small medical device companies and a few selected individual inventors.

 

In retirement, Joe turned his attention to family genealogy, travel, skiing, wilderness canoeing, home improvement projects and choral singing with groups in the Portland area, including singing with the Our Lady of the Lake choir.

 

Joe was predeceased by his parents, Ron and Crystal Breimayer, his brother Roland and wife Ginny Breimayer, and nephews Jim and Joel Breimayer.  He is survived by his wife, Peggy, his daughters Kate Breimayer, of Portland, Debi Breimayer of Palo Alto, CA, Liz and Matt Taylor, of Portland, his grandchildren Charlie and Fran Snipp, and Jack and Madeline Taylor.

 

Joe’s funeral will be at Our Lady of the Lake, Avenue A, Lake Oswego.  He will be interred at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Lake Oswego.
