Jose Lopez passed away on March 11, 2021 at the age of 92 at his home in Lake Oswego, Oregon. Despite battling serious medical issues in recent years, his courage and his devotion to his family always shone through.
Jose served in the US Army during the Korean war. After attending college in San Francisco, Jose quickly worked his way up the ranks, from kitchen assistant to head chef, at some of the city's finest hotel restaurants. His fortitude and passion for cooking would eventually lead to a long and successful career as a restaurant owner in the Bay area.
Jose met the love of his life, Nora, while taking a break from his restaurant businesses in Mexico. Together they had two children: Jose and Nora.
Jose is survived by his wife, Nora; his two children and his three grandchildren.
His family will always remember him for his kindness and generosity, his strong work ethic, and his smile and be forever grateful for the enduring love he showed them as a wonderful husband, father and grandfather.
