James L Kramer passed away, Tuesday morning, March 28th, 2023 in Portland, OR.

Jim was born January 17th, 1939, in Valley City, North Dakota.   He was the son of his late parents, Matthew Kramer and Gladys Berger.  He was born in his family’s farm home and was raised there with his 4 brothers and 5 sisters.

Jim grew up in North Dakota and graduated from Valley City High School.  He stayed busy bowling with his father and family members.  He held different jobs that included working on the family farm, setting up the bowling pins by hand at the local bowling alley, and working as a Produce Manager.

Jim moved out west as a young man. He proudly joined the International Brotherhood of Boilermakers Union in 1966.  He met his late wife Patricia and they were married in 1969.  Jim worked hard, traveled many miles for his work and devoted himself to his craft, trade and family.  He later retired with 35 years of service and was always a proud union man.  Jim was an Elks member for 54 years.  He was a Life Member of the Gateway Elks after being sworn in, in 1969.

Jim enjoyed bowling, golfing, deep sea fishing, camping, road tripping and most of all loved attending family gatherings.  He was an avid sports fan. He proudly cheered for the Oregon Ducks, Portland Trailblazers, NY Yankees and Green Bay Packers.

He is survived by his two Step Daughters, Debbie Earl of Glendale, AZ & Jo Ann Anderson of Beaverton, OR. He is also survived by his 9 Grandchildren and 13 Great Grandchildren; two brothers and one sister.  His wife, parents and 6 siblings preceded him in death.
