Francisco “Francis” Lim Andrade, aged 83 years old, passed away on October 28, 2024, at his residence in Portland, OR. He was born on January 1, 1941, in Dulag Leyte, to Ciriaco Andrade and Joaqina Lim. His family moved from China to the Philippines to manifest more freedom for their family. He was the youngest and last survivor of eight children.
Francis immigrated to the United States in the early 1970s, started a family, and opened a private practice as a physician in family medicine. He was a proud resident of Hagerstown, MD, where he remained for over thirty years. Following retirement at 80 years of age, Francis relocated to the Pacific Northwest to be closer to family.
In his youth, Francis played basketball and enjoyed time at the river with friends. He loved fishing then and throughout his life. Francis was career oriented, family and faith minded, and enjoyed traveling and food. His favorite dish was paella, he had the biggest soft spot for dogs, and spent downtime collecting antiques. Quality time with him included church, bbq’s, and baseball games.
Francis lived a full and fruitful life in service to his community. A decline in health was the result of congestive heart failure. He is survived by his daughter, Kimberly, his grandson Joaquin, his adopted great nephew, Jhan James, and many nieces and nephews.
In memory of Francis, his daughter might suggest a contribution towards the Addus Hope Foundation. https://serenityhospice.org/donate/
