Dang D. Nguyen

Dang Nguyen, a cherished man known for his thoughtfulness and kind-heartedness entered eternal rest in October, 2024 at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas at age 62. He fought a courageous battle against bile duct cancer with a fierce, fighting spirit to live for all his loved ones. In his final moments, Dang was surrounded by family and friends who came together to celebrate one last epic birthday.

Dang was born in 1962 in Saigon, Vietnam and left his home country at age 16 to start a new life in the United States. He graduated from Cleveland High School in Portland, OR and went on to pursue a career working with computers. Dang worked for Digital Equipment after college and remained with the same company despite several company buy-outs and company name changes including Compaq and finally, Hewlett Packard. His final professional role was an account support manager for Hewlett Packard before retiring in 2020.

Dang met his true love and adored wife, Chrissy and settled in Tigard, OR. They celebrated their 36th wedding anniversary this year. Dang will be remembered for his many passions in life: music (guitar, piano, bass), traveling the world, reading, cooking, kayaking, exploring beaches, campfires, and sharing big and small moments with countless people throughout his life. He was blessed to have so many close friends who became an extension of his family throughout the years. Moreover, Dang was quite the handy man - able to fix anything around the house, restore and construct houses and in recent years, discovered a new talent, working on cars. All who knew him will treasure his infectious laugh, witty personality, generosity, and zeal for life.

Preceded in death are his father and one older brother. Dang is survived by his mother, wife, children, four living siblings and many loving nieces and nephews.
