Interment Container Requirements, Options and Pricing

Each type of interment has unique interment container requirements. General requirements for each type of interment are generalized below:

Ground burial containers

Our cemeteries require that in cases of ground burial, caskets must be placed in a concrete "outer burial" container to avoid the ground settling over time due to air space in caskets. Grave liners are the simplest container that meet this requirement and are priced starting at $630. Concrete vaults are plastic lined concrete and help protect the casket from the elements. Vault pricing starts at $900. Funeral homes also sell outer burial containers and you can purchase them from any source as long as they meet our requirements. Please keep in mind that the cemeteries purchase vaults and liners in quantity from the manufacturers and, unlike some suppliers, we can set them in place with our own staff and equipment. This usually means a cost savings for our customers.

Cremation ground burial containers

All cremated remains being interred in the ground must be in a "retrievable" plastic or concrete container. This can be accomplished by placing a metal, wood, glass or ceramic urn into a plastic or concrete cremation liner designated by the manufacturer for ground burial. Urn vaults can also be used since these are designed to be placed directly into the ground and are generally aesthetically pleasing and appropriate for a Funeral Mass. Cremation burial containers range in price starting from $135 for a cremation liner and starting at $180 for an urn vault.
