A wide array of cremation options exists and the costs vary by type and location. Many Catholics have questions surrounding cremation but it is accepted by the Catholic Church when following certain guidelines (see Catholics and Cremation). Options that are not accepted by the church include scattering cremated remains, co-mingling the remains of several individuals, keeping the remains at home or dividing the remains. Acceptable cemetery options include cremation graves, indoor or outdoor niches, specialty cremation areas, and placement in a grave or crypt with a family member (requires payment of an additional right of interment fee). Additional costs include Service Fees, Memorialization and Interment Containers.

Cremation graves are usually the same width as a normal or standard grave but are usually shorter than a normal grave allowing for the use of a standard headstone. The row of graves in the rear of the picture illustrates a typical cremation grave. Cremation graves may also be located in specialty planters, gardens or in a variety of traditional burial sections within the cemetery.
The cost for cremation graves vary by type and location. The fee for the burial plot varies depending on location and number of people being placed. Prices range from $720 to $3,400 for a single and from $1,080 to $4,000 for a double space.
Niches are above-ground structures designed for the placement of urns. They are found in walls or structures know as columbaria. Both cemeteries offer a variety of niche choices. Our columbaria are placed in areas that offer unique settings and convenient visitation. Mt. Calvary offers indoor niches providing protection from the elements. One niche can be purchased for either one or two persons. Prices range for singles from $325 to $3,800 and doubles range from $425 to $5,800.

Often times, one spouse may choose cremation while another chooses traditional burial. Cremated remains can usually be placed in a single grave or single crypt with a casket interment. If a marker is properly designed, up to four interments can be placed in a single grave with memorialization provided only one interment is a full size casket burial. Placement of cremated remains are generally subject to payment for an additional right of interment fee.
Family members may have their cremated remains placed in a grave or crypt purchased or previously owned by another family member. Placement requires permission from the appropriate relatives or owner of the space and payment of an additional right of interment fee. This is usually more economical than purchasing a separate interment space. The additional right of interment fee is $700 for a ground burial or a niche and $800 for a crypt. This is in addition to interment and administration fees. This option often allows families to be interred together and in some cases, an urn can be placed with a previously deceased family member provided the cemetery receives permission from the appropriate parties. Some restrictions do apply so if you are considering this option, we urge you to make an appointment at your cemetery office to discuss your options.
Additional costs include interment and administration fees, and optionally, memorialization.
